Roebuck Bay, Western Australia
Named after the ship in which William Dampier explored the coast of north-western Australia in 1699, Roebuck Bay is a relative stone’s-throw from Broome to the north. The glorious bay and wetlands inshore are awash with wildlife – crustaceans, dugongs and green turtles. Notably, the area also supports over 1% of 22 of the world’s wader species.
We recognise and acknowledge the Jukun and Yawuru people as the traditional custodians of this land.
