Eighty Mile Beach, Western Australia

To be more exact, this beach is an incredible 140 miles (220 kms) long, stretching out between Broome and Port Headland. It forms part of the stunning coastline where the Great Sandy Desert meets the mighty Indian Ocean. As one of the most important migratory stop-over areas, the area teems with shorebirds, often supporting more than 400,000 at a time.

We recognise and acknowledge the Nyangumarta and Karajarri people as the traditional custodians of this land.
